'Love as Action' Chicago Event Dec. 6 Led by American Friends Service Committee

December 4, 2025 Northside Friends

American Friends Service Committee (AFSC) is launching a "Love as Action" series of events with a Chicago Quaker Public Witness on Saturday, Dec. 6, 2025 at Christkindlmarket in Daley Plaza. AFSC is inviting Friends to show up together in a silent, public witness holding signs reflecting our Quaker values.

AFSC will also stage similar events in four other cities on December 6th, with the intention of having Friends participate in dozens of coordinated locations in January 2026.

  • Love as Action — Quaker Public Witness

  • Saturday, December 6th, 11 AM - 12 PM outdoors

  • Location: Christkindlmarket, 50 W Washington St, Chicago, IL 60602 (Daley Plaza)

RSVP and find out more @ https://www.mobilize.us/afscfriendsengagement/event/873415/

In Chicago we'll form our silent witness holding signs along Washington Street immediately outside the Christkindlmarket. If possible, create your own sign to coordinate with the pre-printed signs we'll provide saying, "Immigrants Make our Communities Stronger" and "We All Belong Here."

If you arrive early and want a warm place to wait, there is an entrance to the indoor "Block 37" mall at 109 N. Dearborn Street. The Red and Blue line CTA stations are accessible from the basement of Block 37. The 109 N. Dearborn St. mall entrance is directly across the street to the east of Daley Plaza, and there are public restrooms in the mall.
