What is Illinois Yearly Meeting (ILYM) Continuing Committee?
It's a full day Meeting for Worship with Attention for Business during which ILYM "continues" its business from Annual Sessions (which are held in the summer). Continuing Committee is held twice a year, named simply enough Fall Continuing Committee and Spring Continuing Committee.
When and where is it?
Saturday October 21 at the Chicago Friends School, 1246 W. Thorndale Ave, Chicago, IL Please use the entrance on the west side of the school off Magnolia St. Walk through the parking lot to the doors.
What's the schedule for the day?
Doors open at 9:30AM for coffee and fellowship. Business begins at 10AM and lasts until 4PM or 5PM, with breaks for lunch and snacks.
Is the site wheelchair accessible?
No, the entrance is up a small flight of stairs and is not wheelchair accessible.
Is there parking available? What about public transportation?
There is a small parking lot adjacent to the school, but the spots are available on a first-come, first-served basis and may be full. Free street parking in the neighborhood is usually available, and metered parking is available on Broadway. The Chicago Friends School is also close to the Thorndale Red Line L stop and the Broadway bus.
Will food be provided?
Yes, coffee, tea, and snacks will be available starting in the morning, plus a homecooked lunch of soup and salad will provided by the hosting Meeting - that's us! If you have any dietary restrictions, please email us at Northside.Friends.Meeting@gmail.com by October 14.

I'm new to Northside / I've never been to Illinois Yearly Meeting / I've never been to Continuing Committee. Can I attend?
Yes! You can attend any or all of the day, whether that's just joining for lunch, spending the full day, or anything in between. It's a great chance to meet folks from other Quaker Meetings and see Quakers practice Advanced Decision Making (TM).
