Northside Friends Ministry on Racism Committee (with Frankie) is organizing a couple outings for the Chicago Film Festival this summer. The theme is “migration.” The first showing we’re planning for is Upon Open Sky (A Cielo Abierto) on Wednesday, June 24 @ 6:30 pm at Chicago Cultural Center.
Teenage brothers Fernando and Salvador struggle to adapt to their new life following the death of their father, who was killed in a car crash. Simmering with resentment, the two brothers (with their new stepsister in tow) road trip to the Mexico-U.S. border to track down the man they hold responsible in this taut revenge thriller.
The tickets are FREE but do run out fast once they are released. The tickets for this showing open on Monday, June 15 at 10:00 am. We’ll try to get a couple extra tickets for Friends. If you aren’t able to get one, please reach out! Also, the theater can be cold so bring a couple layers!
