CHI Nations Youth Council Event

We (Ministry on Racism) have been monitoring the CHi Nations Youth Council Instagram for events that are open to the public.  They are hosting a two hour event this Sunday with AUA ( Advocates for Urban Agriculture) from 1:00 to 3:00 pm  The event is both a learning opportunity with AUA and a volunteer opportunity to help with the garden. The garden is located at the intersection of Wilson and Pulaski.

See the following description and registration below.  Registration is free or you can make a small donation to the AUA.:

Soil is a living organism that nourishes and sustains growth and carries powerful histories. First Nations Garden in Albany Park embodies this wisdom by providing a healing space for Chicago’s First Nations communities and promotes public knowledge and appreciation of Chicago’s Indigenous landscape and ecosystems.

Attendees at this event will learn more about the work of Chi Nations Youth Council and have an opportunity to explore their own relationship to soil, land and compost with a guided reflection led by AUA's Soil Testing Steward, Yahdi Caprice. This event will end with a work day for participants to volunteer at the garden sites.

Food and drinks will be provided! Register using the link in our bio.  RSVP at

I (Beth Burbank) will be attending this event.  Please email me if you are interested in this Immersion event.  This event was recently posted.  It unfortunately overlaps with Second Hour on our budget planning.   If you plan to attend NFM Second Hour, please know there will be other opportunities to participate with Chi Nations Youth Council Gardens.
